Warm-ups lots of mineral ice, prehab stuff concentrating on shoulders. Bicipital tendonitis is getting much, much better!

    Bench
    Bar x 10 - close grip
    115 x 5
    140 x 5
    170 x 5
    200 x 3 - P.O.R.
    225 x 3
255 x 4 - PR added belt and wrist wraps. Setup was good. Felt like I had another left in the tank. Left biceps was pretty painful after this set.

    BW = 203.8 lbs

Setup at 225 as okay but not ideal. Concentrated on getting tighter at 255. Setup was better and I had more leg drive (which still needs work). Felt great to pop 255 up for reps.

Left elbow was 'sore' for everything. Left biceps was pretty painful after my last set. It isn't hurt or re-injured, but it is pain. That means I'm headed for an injury. I decided to take my PR and run. Wife is thrilled I listened to my body for a change. I didn't tell her how long I debated about doing something else - even if it was only triceps push downs.

Pops adage, "more is not better; better is better," rang through my head as I bailed on the rest of my workout.

Warm-ups - took a long time with prehab and foam rolling work. I was looking forward to hitting some PRs.

Military Press - every single rep was strict. When Popavich says no leg drive at all, I'm not going to argue. I'm just going to do.
    Bar x 10
    85 x 5
    100 x 5
    135 x 5
    160 x 5 - was supposed to load the bar to 150. I'm retarded.
    170 x 3
190 x 2 - PR added belt and wrist wraps
    200 x 0 - didn't get it locked out.
200 x 1 - PR Much better acceleration off the bottom. Smashed it!
    135 x 16 - PR Because I f'n could!
    135 x 12
    135 x 10

    Triceps Pushdowns
    60 x 15
    60 x 30
    60 x 20

    BOBR
    135 x 10 x 3 - left biceps healing!

BW = 202 - wife has been complaining about me snoring. Time to drop some pounds.

Tonight I felt not just good, but strong. I hit a long, long time goal of pressing 200 lbs. Next big goal is 225. Missing 200 didn't bother me at all because I knew exactly what I did wrong. I didn't come out of the hole aggressively enough, lost tightness, and didn't get the lockout. I stepped back, did the lift in my head a couple times, stepped up, and smashed it. Damn that felt good.

    Warm-ups

    Squat
    165 x 5 - knee sleeves
    205 x 5
    245 x 5
    305 x 5 - added belt
    345 x 3 - vomited after set.
    385 x 1 - PR added knee wraps

    BW = 200 lbs

Was sick the first three days of this week. Dropped a total of 9 lbs. I've only put one of those back on. Stomach still queasy tonight but I had some unfinished business on squats. Torqued my left shoulder squeezing under the bar for my last set. Sunk 385 but didn't have 100% control over the bar path. Didn't sit back enough with it. Had plenty of power to drive it out of the hole. On a good day, I feel two would be easy and three possible. Today was not a good day.

I managed to set a PR, which a good thing. Its nice to squat without resorting to briefs whenever I go over 345 lbs. Still, I'm tired of being a weak pussy.

    What are the chances?

    Warm-up - usual stuff

    Bench
Bar x 10 - Close Grip, thumbless grip
    115 x 5
    140 x 5
    170 x 5
    210 x 5
240 x 3 - P.O.R, added wrist wraps & belt. Great setup, weight was easy.
270 x 2 - setup was a touch off and I wasn't as tight as my previous set.
300 x 1 - added slingshot. With the heavier weights I have a bit of trouble unracking the weights. I need the rack about an inch lower.
    330 x 1

    Triceps Pushdowns
    70 x 15 x 4

Standing Ab Pulldowns (supersetted with triceps)

    BOBR
    135 x 12 x 4

I think 270 x 2 is a PR, but I'm too lazy to dig through everything to make sure. I wanted 3 reps, but I couldn't stay tight enough.

The slingshot is a lot of fun. I believe it gives me about a 10% increase on my max bench. It allows me to use heavier weights without the hassle of a shirt. I am concerned with the longevity of the product. I haven't used it that long and it already looks a bit stretched on the 'chest plate.' However, I've noticed no decrease in the slingshot's performance.

The real key to the slingshot is working it into your training in a logical manner. I don't know that I've done that... I like to use it cause I can bench 330 lbs with it.

There's a girl at our gym (April Mathis) that has one and I've been wanting to give it try but I haven't been able to get in when she trains. Now there are 2-3 others out there, i'm not sure which one to get, lol.

The only bashing I've heard on the Slingshot has more to do with Mark Bell being the creator. Seems like there are some hard feelings from some folks to others... You have the right idea, try what is available and get the one that suits you.

    Warm-ups

    SOHP
    Bar x 10
    75 x 5
    95 x 5
    115 x 5
    135 x 3
    150 x 3
    170 x 3
    175 x 1 - added wrist wraps and belt
    180 x 1 x 2

    Triceps Pushdowns
    70 x 15 x 4

    Deadlifts (supposed to be BOBR)
    135 x 1
    225 x 1
    275 x 1
    315 x 1 x 3 - experimenting with grip

Had no drive today. Moved a few things around and got some work done. Was supposed to do rows, but I deadlifted instead. Hook grip, I'm doing it wrong. Deadlift form sucks. It doesn't help that I'm very leery of them too.

Both... I have no idea what a hook grip is other than having your thumb under your fingers. I don't feel as if I have any grip doing that. The bar tends to roll out of my hands. I'm pretty sure I'm doing it wrong. Form is poor too - lack of flexibility is part of the issue.

I really don't know how to explain it, you said it yourself the fingers wrap around your thumb. Maybe your not wrapping them tight.

Warm-ups - lots of foam rolling, usual shoulder prehab/rehab

    Bench
Bar x 10 - thumbless grip; close grip
    115 x 5
    145 x 5
    175 x 5
    200 x 3
    230 x 3 - P.O.R., wrist wraps
260 x 2 - touched rack hard descending on 3rd rep. Screwed up 3rd rep, torqued shoulder a bit
    265 x 1 - felt heavy, wasn't tight enough
    270 x 1 - easy rep
    225 x 10 x 2 - close grip with slingshot. Back started cramping.

Dorked up my lower back doing fence work this weekend. Couldn't handle squats tonight, so it was bench. Used a thumbless grip on all my bench tonight. With this grip, I felt as if I were trying to bend the bar in half and that activated my triceps a bit more.

Bench was pretty good until 260. I set up a little too close to the rack and tapped the rack hard on my left side. I damned near racked the left side while the right kept coming down. Had to rack the weight and abandon the third rep.

Getting set up to unrack my heavier sets is always a PITA. I have to get it to where I can unrack it without killing myself, yet far enough away from the rack to where I wont touch it. There is probably an inch difference between the two. I got it wrong at 260. Got it right for my next two sets.

Spinal erectors (erector spinae) started cramping on my last sets of bench at 225. Figured I should listen to my body and call it a day. Would rather leave still hungry for more work than beat myself up so badly I can't do anything (like I did this weekend working on the fence).

    Warm-ups

    Squat
    Bar x 10~12 - knee sleeves
    175 x 5
    215 x 5
    250 x 3
295 x 3 - added belt, had to drop the rack a notch
    335 x 3
    375 x 3 - PR added knee wraps
    405 x 4 - PR added briefs

Let's see.... wife's Pampered Chef part or squat? SQUAT!

It was hot and humid today. Gassed after my warm-up sets but powered on through to some new PRs. 405 x 4 was easy. More reps were there if I were in better condition.

Titan Centurion Boxer Briefs. I also have a pair of Inzer Groove Briefs, but they are old and a PITA to get on and off. For the support they give, they aren't worth the trouble of putting on.
