I've done 300 lbs for a single. So, technically doing three singles is kind of a PR in itself.

Doing 3 singles is a huge PR! How did they feel? They feel a lot lighter than before? I believe you mentioned the last time you did 300, one arm was lagging way behind the other. Was that still the case?

They felt a ton easier than last time. There wasn't any difference between the arms this time, I think the direct arm work has helped with that.

Good and relentless benching sets, dips and curls are real fine as well.

Oh and nobody from the NFC West deserves to be a playoff team! Hopefully Harbaugh can do some good with the 49ers. Pac-10 (12) rivals move into the NFL!

I like to alternate the two to give me more variety. They both seem to work pretty well.

As for the NFC...give it a few years and they will be okay.

I was so proud of my 255lbsx6 squat, but you had to blow it out of the water with 250x20. Nice work OR, that is some serious squatting.

Thanks guys. I will think of your support every time I throw an extra 5 or 10 lbs on the bar. I have a lot of self-motivation, but you guysmake it even easier to get in the gym and torture myself. My plan is to quickly progress the 20 reppers up to 315 lbs, then slowly grind my way back up to 350 lbs.

OR, can you walk us through a typical 20 rep squat? Im curious to see how your body feels as the reps climb.

Hey you old bastard, you can't hit 315 x 20 before me. I know that you've already done that before...back when you were running the 20 rep squats program, but you can't hit it AGAIN now before I do. I won't stand for it!

    Just playin....good stuff man!

I always use the same breathing patterns so it becomes habit.

I rep out the first five with just a single breath between reps. These first five are generally pretty easy and gives me a big confidence boost and gets me into a groove with my form.

For reps 6 through 10, I take two breaths between reps. This makes these reps take much longer, so I really have to focus on form and staying tight at the top. The heavy breathing hasn't really set in yet.

For reps 11 through 15 I take three breaths between reps. These reps are a real grind, towards the end I really want to stand and take more breaths, but I force myself to take three breaths only. Standing at the top, I really start struggling to get enough air into my lungs and the weight is really starting to dig into my traps. This is the point where doubt creeps in and I want to just stop the set because I know it's going to get so much tougher.

For reps 16 through 20, I really want to quit as it seems impossible to get enough air. I stop noticing the weight on my shoulders because I'm consentrating so hard on just breathing. I allow myself to stand there with the weight and take as many breaths as I need to feel ready to do another rep, this may be as many as 10 breaths but I'm not consious enough to count them and the breaths are so fast and shallow. Every rep becomes a max single and takes longer and longer to complete each one. I just try to focus my mind on correct form and keep telling myself, "just one more." It's just ugly when you start to rise up and the only thing you can think of is how hard it's going to be to stand there with the weight and trying to catch your breath.

When I'm done, I rack the weight and sit on the box. The belt is digging into me but I just don't have the energy to unbuckle it for a few minutes. I just sit there and catch my breath and try to clear the cobwebs from my head. After I've had a chance to relax, I feel on top of the world for forcing myself to do something that is so physically demanding, surviving that is the best feeling in the world. It's addicting...

No, I'd only get severe back pumps if I was GMing the weight too much. I do get crazy ham and glute pumps though. That came with my change in form, I used to get crazy quad pumps and sore ass knees.
