Go to a renal specialist before you do anything. If your doctor is immediatley associating a potential kidney problem with a supplement, he is a clown and you should find another doctor.

This. There is a FAR greater chance you have an underlying condition that is causing the problem, and jumping to the conclusion that it is the supplement is just bad medicine.

The thing that is concerning is that you may have an underlying kidney issue which probably has nothing to do with your supplement (which is probaby mostly sugar and stimulants anyway). What happens if you get re-tested in a month and your levels are normal or slightly lower than before? Your doctor will probably continue the faulty assumption that the problem was caused by your supplement and send you on your way.

Now what happens if you actually have a real problem that is caused by something else and now you are on your merry way thinking you're fine? Do you think there may possibly be a potential risk of damage to your kidneys if an undiagnosed issue goes untreated for a long period of time?

The problem with what your doctor did is he took a symptom and immediately jumped to a conclusion. Unfortunately, just eliminating the one suspected cause and waiting is a backward way of treating you. A good doctor would look at all of the potential causes, discuss the most likely ones with you and, if there is real concern, would refer you to a specialist for further evaluation.

I have my levels checked twice a year for the past 5 years, just started taking creatine for the first time in two years and now my creatine levels are up, I'll stop it for two months an then get rechecked if they are good then I'll cycle it again an then get re checked, if their up again then it's obvious it's the supplement

    Your creatinine levels are up.

You're taking in extra creatine and peeing out more creatinine.

Much like drinking more water and peeing more, it's to be expected.

It is not an indication your kidneys are failing, more that they're doing their job properly.

Obviously that's not a blanket recommendation and there may be an underlying issue but as an obvious explanation to elevated creatinine levels it stands. I also doubt very much that anyone is on dialysis because of creatine intake.

Obviously when you take creatine, your creatine levels will be up. Your body can only absorb so much and the rest is pissed out. I'm willing to bet you are taking more creatine than you need.

What everyone else said. You should stop the supplement use for now, but you need a 2nd opinion as your doc is clearly incompetent in this particular arena. See another doc.

Sounds like you are seeing an MD doctor. Treat the symptom kind of guy instead of find the underlying issue.

Go see a DO (Doctor of Osteopathy) type doctor. They will find the real issue.

Methinks the NO supplement was the culprit of your heart racing, not the creatine. Creatine doesn't do anything to/for the heart. It facilitates the production of ADP which makes the muscles work (in short). You probably had some sugared up 'mega NrG' crap or something.

I knew something was up when you said you were taking a NO product and then saying you were taking creatine.

But who knows. Maybe your body produces plenty of the stuff and the extra creatine was breaking down into creatinine (which is the TRUE culprit) and messing with your kidneys.

However, I find it unsound medical advice to blame it straight away on the creatine. It was a good idea to stop it for a while to see, though. It couldn't hurt.

Which NO supplement were you taking, anyway?

    EDIT: I just (re)read:

What's different lately than it was two years ago? It seems you were testing fine two years ago whilst doing your semiannual level-checking.
