Road to the 2007 NPC USA Bodybuilding Championships.

Sup peeps? Been a member here for a while as a lurker. I am making this journal to keep my azz in check, as I make another run at this years NPC USA, held in Vegas on the last weekend of July. Which is putting me at about 22-23 weeks out. I did it last year, it was my 2nd show and I placed 6th in the middles out of 19 or 20 competitors. I was pleased with the placement, 6th in a national show for a total of 2 shows. I will follow the USA's up with the Nats this coming November, then I will sit back and assess my bb'ing career, to see if I wanna continue. I will post current diet and training log everyday. Keep me in line guy's and gals.

Thanks Bohizzle. As of right now I am coming off a have fun eat and drink when and what I want, which is usually only about a month and a , but I still got all my food and training in. Just so that I can justify my pre-contest boring self to my girl, she hates when I prep. So, my weight is at 225-230 about a week ago.

Since then I started a mini diet which will last bout 2 weeks, then I will switch to the diet above on a Monday - Friday basis and a lil cheating on the weekend. My mini diet consists of: fish, or eggs, and veggies , with carbs consisting of waxy maize pwo only. I weigh myself tonight and I will let you know. I can tell I lost weight just by looking at my face.

I will prolly cut out all cheating and add cardio at bout 6 - 8 weeks out. I will post some recent pics soon.

Glad to see you started a journal. It'll be great to follow your contest prep in here. Lest it get too serious...here you go:

Thanks for the journal man! I'm gonna track the progress daily as I want to become a bodybuilder someday.. It's some great inspiration. Also, This might be a dumb question, but during off season, Why is it necessary to gain some much weight and then lean out for competitions? Couldn't you just lean all year long or is that just way too much effort?

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. The reason people gain offseason weight is to grow and move up in weight classes. I don't thinks it's necessary to gain too much weight, but it just happens for me, until I check myself. I think you would wanna take a break from all the dieting and stress you put on your body, clean up your diet some and have in the offseason and if you try to lean out all year long, you definately stop progressing and just be overtrained and catabolic....not fun. I learned that you don't have to be bigger to be better. But you dont have diet all yr long.
