Awesome setup. Very big garage too. Only thing I don't see is a place for dips...unless you just use the bench?

Great Set-up. What's your chin bar made of? Looks like PVC?

I'd rather pay $30/month to train in a gym that looks like that rather than give it to Golds

Looks like some pipes in some boards to keep the bar off the floor when mounting plates. :gotme:

Nice garage gym. I'm also jealous.

Yeah no kidding, it's better than the commercial gym we train at.

Wow, guys. Thanks for all the comments. Hopefully you can all use these ideas for your own gyms. Just takes a little work, some creative thinking and of course, some cash.

The guy that lived here before me actually had a gas heater installed. I slapped a new thermostat on it and hell yeah, it's heated Used that **** all winter long. Thought it was useless before I bulit my gym, but not anymore.

They actually aren't bolted to the floor. They are just homemade bar-jacks to load my plates on. So that I don't have to do the "loading-plate and lifting bar" dance. Real deadlift jacks cost like $200. Those two little babies cost me about $10 at Home Depot.

No place for dips, yet. I'll probably build some bars some day. It's on my list.

The chin bar is made of 1" galvanized pipe from Home Depot. I wrapped it with athletic tape to keep it from getting too cold and to provide a better grip.

It's sort of a work in progress. Took me about 2 full months to really get it to where it's at though. Did it while I was laid off for 6 weeks in December and January. Worst part was tearing down all the old **** in the garage, doing some electrical for the lighting (which was actually really cheap), and ripping the 8' boards.

Lol, the wife still has her spot in the garage. I sacrificed my spot and park in the driveway now. Small price to pay, IMO.
